1. Why are only a few Work Order areas showing as available to be chosen when I create a new Work Order?
This occurs because Work Order Areas can be configured with specific visibility restrictions to keep operations organized.
When you create a Work Order, the platform automatically filters available areas based on:
- Selected Context: The location, client, or asset selected for the Work Order only displays areas assigned to them.
- User Profiles & Technical Skills: Access may be restricted to specific users or skills.
- Equipment Types & Maintenance Workflows: Areas may be linked only to specific asset types or maintenance processes.
Note: Administrator accounts bypass these restrictions automatically. Additionally, on the Web Platform, rules are overridden for Managers to ensure they can always report issues.
2. How do I make hidden Work Order areas available again?
If you want an area to be visible globally across all clients, locations, and users, an Administrator can clear the restrictions by following these steps:
1. Login to the Infraspeak web platform.
2. On the bottom left corner, select Settings.
3. Under the Work Orders section, click on Areas and Types.
4. Click to Edit the Work Order Area you want to change.
5. In the editing menu, adjust the restriction fields:
- Users who can create Work Orders of this area: Set to Any User or Technical Skill.
- Clients for whom Work Orders of this area and type can be created: Set to Any client.
- Equipment types and soft maintenances: Remove any assigned restrictive types.
6. Click Save.
