In Infraspeak, there is currently no way to automatically transfer the maintenance history from one asset to another, nor is it possible to edit a completed intervention to simply change the asset it's associated with.

In this case, you can either perform the maintenance task again on the correct asset, or attach the maintenance record from the "incorrect" asset to the correct one (for example, as a document). If you'd prefer to correct the record manually, the steps below explain exactly how to do it.

Reopen the job

  1. The technician opens the mobile app and locates the job in question.
  2. They reopen the job so it becomes editable again.
  3. Please note that this is only possible if the Work Order has not yet been confirmed or validated by a Manager or Administrator on the web platform.

Tip: Act as soon as the mistake is spotted. Once the Work Order is validated on the web, reopening is no longer possible and the correction becomes more limited.

Log the data on the correct asset

  1. After reopening the job, the technician selects the correct asset.
  2. They manually fill in the tasks, adding any relevant observations or photos.
  3. This ensures the intervention is properly recorded in the right asset's history.

Tip: Take a moment to double-check the asset code or location before filling in the tasks, to avoid repeating the mistake.

Clear the incorrect asset

  1. The technician returns to the asset that was filled in by mistake.
  2. They delete the information previously logged and cancel the tasks on that asset.
  3. This step is crucial to ensure no false records remain in the incorrect asset's history.

Tip: Treat this step as mandatory. Leaving data behind on the wrong asset can compromise future audits and reports.

Correct the base Planned Job

  1. A Manager opens the web platform and navigates to the corresponding Planned Job.
  2. They click to edit it and remove the incorrect asset from the interventions list.
  3. Save the changes so the wrong asset no longer appears for the technician in future scheduled occurrences.

What happens next

Once these four steps are complete, the maintenance history will be correctly attributed to the right asset, and the incorrect asset will no longer carry any misleading records. From that point on, the base Planned Job will also generate future occurrences with the correct asset assigned, preventing the same mistake from happening again. If in doubt, remember that spotting and correcting the mistake early — before the Work Order is validated on the web — is always the smoothest path to keeping your asset records accurate and reliable.
