The Infraspeak Data Lake can be integrated with various analytics tools in different ways, depending on the tool you choose. This article does not aim to provide detailed instructions on how to set up these integrations, but rather to highlight the most common options:
Connecting Amazon Athena to Power BI by installing an available ODBC driver;
Connecting through Native connectors, like in Amazon QuickSight;
Connecting to AWS Glue Data Catalog, as some tools can directly connect to Glue to discover schemas.
You will find a high-level schema of the Data Lake available tables, and the correlation / relationship between tables and primary keys.
Please note that the data lake is an evolving product, so the information made available is sequential by relevance for analytics purposes and potencial client requests.
Configuring Data Lake in ODBC and connecting it to Power BI
Below are more details on installing and configuring the Data Lake data source in the ODBC driver, and using it in Power BI.
Install the ODBC driver software (ODBC Data Source Administrator), available via the following this :
2. Once installed, search for the ODBC software in the Windows Start menu and run ODBC Data Sources as an administrator (in the 64-bit or 32-bit version, depending on the computer's architecture):
Important note: Ensure the ODBC is opened and configured with Administrator permissions. Otherwise, the configuration might not be correctly done.
Power BI connection- Get Data
After configuring the ODBC (data source), it is possible to access and analyze the information directly through Power BI.
Select the Amazon Athena option to access the database via Power BI.
Enter the connection name you configured and select the data import type.
Next, you will see a list of tables available in the Data Lake. Just select the tables you want and click Load to start using the data in your report.
Additional information regarding the configuration process will be provided throughout the implementation after the service set-up.
